Day 1 - In the Beginning

I Love Beginnings. I really do! And what better time to begin than the first day of 2019!!!
The promise of things to come! A blank page to write my own script! A blank canvas to draw my own picture!!! “All the wild possibilities ...” that no one has had the chance to talk me out of, or judge me as being out “wrong.”
This year, the journey of 1000 days - inwardly contemplating great lines from literature and film; outwardly working to be more fit. The journey inward; the journey outward! As a sign on the highway in Baja reads: Vive Mejor! (Live Better!)
I have found at 67 years old if I don’t have intentional goals, I get older much, much faster. So the Journey of 1000 Days is a pledge to contemplate wisdom that has resonated with me during my journey. (Ideas that have guided me, but have lost their passion, as I have lost mine.) This time the idea is to delve deeper into the deeper meaning of both my world, and perhaps the world we share.
We at Summit Ascent would love to hear what ideas have guided you (whether you are 7 or 70) on your journey thus far. What wisdom of the sages sing to your soul? Does it reverberate through the world or has the world become deaf to its melody? For today is what I want to begin to “Living Better” with more intention and direction and hopefulness. If I focus on the beginning I must live in the here and now.
In order to really experience the beginning and live fully in the here and now I must let go of the guilt, for that comes from holding onto the past - and I must let go of fears and worries, for those come from thinking about the future. The noise of guilt and fear drown out the music that is playing right before me in the here and now.
The first quote for 2019 keeps echoing in my head ...
“In the beginning ...”
“In the beginning ...”
“In the beginning ...”
Let this be my beginning ... living more fully in the here and now ...
Give me the blank page and the courage to create ...
I really like beginnings ...
